Cornwall Council publishes information about how to stand for election to be a Cornwall Councillor

On 4 May 2017, elections will be held across Cornwall for all the seats on Cornwall Council. This will be 4 years from the previous elections in 2013.

You can stand as a candidate if:

  • You are at least 18 years old, and
  • A British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of any member state of the European Union, and
  • Be a registered elector in Cornwall or have another residency or work qualification associated with Cornwall
