Bus shelters and real time passenger information in Grampound: update

Cornwall Council consulted on the proposal to install two bus shelters and real time passenger information systems in Probus and Grampound. The proposals were advertised on notices in the villages and on the Cornwall Council website. In addition full details were provided on this website and many of you responded to my survey and directly to Cornwall Council.

With regard to the proposal for Grampound, the Council has decided not to proceed with the proposed bus shelter in Grampouind on the St Austell bound side of the road because of the unacceptabe impact that it would have on the residential amenity of the adjacenct cottages.

On the Truro bound side of the road, it is proposed to install a mini shelter (not the midi sized shelter originally proposed) and care will be taken to ensure that it is installed such that it does not cause any harm to adjacent properties.

Further work is being done on the potential shelter in Probus to ensure that no problems will be caused to the existing parking arrangements in The Square. Consultation will take place with First Buses regarding the position of the bus stop.
