Council publishes reports on planning enforcement activity: latest report January-March 2018

Residents often report to Cornwall Council planning department cases of alleged breaches of planning permissions. When the Council receives these complaints, a Council enforcement officer investigates the issue and determines what action, if any, should be taken.

Each quarter, the Council publishes a report of the activity of the planning enforcement teams. The most recent report for January to March 2018 is now available at Planning enforcement report.

You will see that, in a significant percentage of cases, there is no breach of planning control or the matter is one of permitted development. In other cases, the matter is resolved by the alleged culprit submitting a planning application for the development. In only a small proportion of cases, are formal notices served.
