Joint venture put on hold

At the Full Council meeting of 23 October, the issue of the possible joint venture with British Telecom was again debated. This followed the motion that was passed in the September meeting about this issue, the vote at the Extraordinary meeting of 16 October to remove the Leader, and the submission to the council of a petition calling for a halt to the process.

The matter will now be reconsidered by the new Cabinet and any proposal to enter into a deal with a private sector partner will be put to the Full Council before any final decision is taken.
