Tregony Parish Council installs mobile vehicle activated speed sign in village

In order to try reduce traffic speeds in the 20 mph limit in Tregony, the parish council has installed a mobile vehicle activated speed (VAS) sign in the village. Initially, the sign has been placed on Tregony Hill. If vehicles exceed the 20 mph limit, the sign will be activated and will flash a warning to the motorist to slow down. It is hoped that this will act as a reminder to motorists and a deterrent against excessive speeds.

After a period, the sign will be moved to a new location in the village. In this way, it will emphasise to motorists that the speed limit should be adhered to throughout the built-up area.

The sign was paid for entirely by the parish council.
