New buses will come to 50/51 and 22 routes but delayed for a few months

It had been planned that new vehicles would be introduced on the First 50/51 and 22 routes from the summer of 2018. However, unfortunately, a small problem was identified. The new single-deck vehicles that have been introduced on several of First's rural routes are a few inches wider than their predecessor vehicles. On the 51 route, there is a very tight pinch point on the road into Portloe. This means that it has not been possible to use the new vehicles on this route. This has a knock-on effect on the 50 and 22 routes that share the vehicles across these routes.

First now plan to purchase a different model, slightly narrower, of new vehicle for use on these routes. it is hoped that these will be rolled out in this area before the end of 2018.
