Truro Eastern District park-and-ride to open in early August 2015

Motorists approaching Truro from this side of the city will have seen intensive roadworks on the junction at the top of Tregolls Road and suffered some long traffic hold-ups. There will probably continue to be delays for the last couple of weeks in July, but the good news is that, after many months of construction work on the Truro Eastern District site, the park-and-ride will be opening in early August 2015.

Motorists approaching from Tresillian will be able to turn right into the site at the traffic lights about 200 yards before the Tregolls Road junction. Motorists approaching from the Newquay road will be able to turn left into the site before the junction. Initially, there will be at least 1000 parking spaces available. The terminal building for the park-and-ride buses will not be completed by August, but there will be temporary ticketing facilities available.

The new buses are ready to run from day one. The buses will take passengers into the city centre and on through the centre to the station, County Hall, Highertown, Treliske and the western park-and-ride terminus.
