Primary school admissions: applications must be in by 15 January

If you have a child who is due to start in reception class in September 2014, please make sure that you have applied for a place by 15 January at the latest. See Applying to Start School on the Cornwall Council website.

Starting school or transferring to a junior, secondary or KS4 school is an important step for your child and we want to make the process of applying for a school place as easy as possible.  If your child was born between the dates listed below, you will need to apply for a school place for September 2014.  Please follow the links for further information and details on how to apply.

• Starting Infant/Primary School - If your child was born between 01 September 2009 and 31 August 2010, you will need to apply for a school place for September 2014 by 15 January 2014.

• Starting Junior School - If your child was born between 01 September 2006 and 31 August 2007 and currently attends an Infant School, you will need to apply for a place in year three for September 2014 by 15 January 2014.

• Starting Secondary School - If your child was born between 01 September 2002 and 31 August 2003, you will need to apply for a place in year seven in a secondary school for September 2014.  The application deadline was 23:59 on 31 October 2013.  Follow the link for information on how to submit a late application.

• Starting at a University Technical College or Studio School - If you live in Cornwall and your child is currently in Year 9 and you wish to apply for them to start at a KS4 school (UTC or Studio School) in another County such as UTC Plymouth, you will need to apply to Cornwall Council by 31 October 2013.
